Brain
Many people are aware that biological structure of our brain affects to our way of thinking. Not so many people are aware that the process is also possible the other way around: our thoughts also modify the biological structure of the brain. Our life experiencces from cradle to grave leave marks to its structure, our thoughts, ideas and views have an effect to our brain. Scientists were surprised to find out about placebo effect - how it did not not affect to result whether patients got real medicine pills or just pills without any medicine in them. Another well known example is when at old age partner dies and person loses his/her will to live - body and mind are tied together.
There's also theory about some people having born with such brain structure, which makes it very easy for them not to get involved with things that most of the mankind does (dualism, beliefs, seeking authority, grouping and so on). That makes them stand out already at very early age and term "enlightened" is sometimes put upon them. Still, even if that theory was true (personally I agree with it to certain extent) it does not make much difference - we all can change the structure of our brain. Not only unconsciously as we all do that all the time but consciously, seeing the cause and effect.

very interesting subject to think about :D
so for you, all kind of "spiritual experiences" are just depend on certain brain structure? and there is nothing more?
:)
To me "spiritual experience" is absence of mind. All people, regardless of their brain structure have these experiences every now and then. How often they occur and how deep they are is then another matter.
since the brain has the ability to produce every possible signal in your body, you can do everything with it, if you can control your brain. Most fascinating thing in the world :)
it has been proved, that certain substances create the feeling of "light at the end of tunnel" and "leaving the body" - so, it really is impossible to prove, whether you have the "spiritual experience" or just feel like you have it.
and what's more interesting - without your brain, there would be no matter, because the signals from your receptors your brain interpretes, create the matter in your head ;)
I think it's impossible to prove absolutely anything in this world - there are always counter arguments. However, I don't think proving is necessary at all - everyone must find out things by themselves, not by someone else proving them that something is so.
the question "is there nothing more?" just screamed for proof in my eyes ;)
of course there is exatly that much how much you want there to be.
very interesting topic, anyways.
