Stick-warning

"If you go to a Zen master to learn the Dharma today, do not ask questions. If you do, you will get a stick-hit on the head, which is called "stick-warning". It means that you cannot ask questions, but that you should make yourself understood by yourself."
~Zhuan Falun

This is how I have been feeling already for some time. Whenever I hear people asking questions about life, about their worries and fears, I feel like just hitting them with a stick to the head. Perhaps then they would return to the present moment and stop thinking all that non-sense. Thinking never liberates person, it does just the opposite. Thought is very limited and it is based on person's knowledge. That knowledge is the barrier for awakening. Spiritual "masters" are not here to teach you anything - they are here only to point out that YOU must destroy your knowledge.

Moon and shadow

The moon, at night, is a cold silent orb glowing at it’s roundest it casts your shadow. A shadow that is somehow, and extension of you, a friend you wish to show to others. Crawling beside you, it seems to be your true self, your friend, willing to stand up for you, giving you strength. You try to introduce your friend, but others run in fear. The fear that comes from not knowing, not wanting to know, Not being willing to know. Leaving you and your friend sitting to ponder... Why do they run, why do they fear learning.

It's not true

There's an old Aztec saying that has been often in my mind recently.

"It is not true, it is not true
that we come to live here.
We come only to sleep, only to dream."

Isn't it so? Almost all humans are sleepwalkers, doing everything in a dream. Not only in a sense that we don't see the reality as it is but also our usual life is never ending journey from one dream to another. It makes me also wonder who was that Atzec who said that quote for first time - was he (or she) awake?

I just took a test at http://dna.imagini.net/friends/ and got following results:

moods : dreamer

You're strong and maybe solitary? You're never afraid of a challenge and you see beauty even in the most inhospitable enviroments. You have a pioneering attitude to life - always moving onto the next challenge. When it comes to art, you appreciate natural beauty. You take time to soak up the nature favouring the coastline and countryside to the city galleries. As for music, it's the soundtrack to your world. It gives you focus, and concentration - you might find it hard to switch off. Your choice of treat shows that you're a really bubbly character; you love touch of glamour and sophistication!

First half sounds accurate. But "bubbly character who loves touch of glamour and sophistication" is far off.

fun : conqueror

Oh - insatiable. Your thirst for affection never drops. You've got a high sex drive and appetite for lurve. For kicks you like to indulge in your great passions. You are probably happy spending time alone, and your drive and curiousity will take you all over the world. When it comes to holidays, there's no stopping you once you've got the taste of adventure. You like to be immersed in a completely different world and would be really bored just sitting around on the beach. What grosses you out? You like people to be well groomed, with a tight body and heaps of sex appeal. Wobbly bits and hairy areas are a complete turn off.

Would like to modify this a bit but it is quite accurate.

habits : high time roller

You get a bit of kick from taking risks and always want a blast of extra excitement in life. You're not neurotic about making healthy choices... You've got more of an easy going and carefree approach to your lifestyle... and a sweet tooth too. As for the home, your bold personality is reflected in your style. You like to be in surroundings that lift your mood and that wild side to you.

This sounds like most inaccurate description even though there are some truths in it.

love : touchy feely

A strong friendship is the best basis for any loving relationship. You like to be able share your whole life with your friends, family and your partner. When you think of freedom - nature takes over. Getting back, out into wilderness is a big draw.

Well, perhaps so.

Leaving

I just finished packing my things so I guess now it's good time to update my blog since I am not sure when (if ever) I will make next entry here. So here's update of my current situation: two months ago I quit my job and in one hour I am going to move my stuff away from my apartment. Where am I going? Tomorrow I have a flight to capital of Bhutan - Thimphu. Then I will head up north, to province of Gasa. There's a forest monastery where I will go to stay. How long? I don't know. I have been in contact with head monk of that monastery already for years now and during the years we have had long conversations about all kind of subjects. I just realized that I would be much happier there, meditating in peaceful monastery instead of wandering around in this crazy world. I never liked saying goodbyes so I don't want to be too sentimental here. I wish all the best to readers of this blog - who knows, maybe I'll be back someday. Take care everyone!
